Etowah Cub Scout Day Camp

Planning for the 2012 Amazing Race Etowah Day Camp is in full swing, Kurt Pearson and Brad McLelland are excited about this year's program and honored to report we have just about all of our station leaders back again this year. The theme for our 2012 EDC is the Amazing Race; the amazing race to an incredible, fun week, the amazing race to friendship and the amazing race to building scout skills. The overall approach and schedule of the weeklong program is the same one you have come to know and love, with only minor changes planned to address the feedback we received from many of you.

Webelos Adventure Camp

There are also still spots available to attend Webelos Adventure Camp this summer! If your son is currently a Bear or Webelos Scout, this is for YOU!

Webelos Adventure Camp is a camping experience where Webelos work on and earn four activity pins. There are 20 activity pins total and a scout that earns all of the pins earns the award of Super Scouter. This is also a way to get a jump on earning the arrow of light(8 activity pins) the only award earned in Cub Scouts that can be worn on a boy scout uniform. If you attend summer day camp your swim test will count towards Webelos Adventure Camp. You can even pay for Webelos Adventure Camp with Camp Cards. We would like to get registered as soon as possible. The fee for camp is $70 per adult and $125 per scout---this will include all food. When: There are 4 sessions over two weeks. Session 1 is July 8-11 (Sunday through Wednesday), Session 2 is July 12-15 (Thursday through Sunday), Session 3 is July 15-18 (Sunday through Wednesday), and session 4 is July 19-22 (Thursday through Sunday).

May Pack Meeting Reminder - UPDATE!!!

Meeting in the Dining Hall at MUMC and not the Eagle's Nest!
Our May Pack Meeting is the last one of the "Cub Scout Year." This will be our "Scout Graduation," which involves the boys receiving their next rank's colors! It is very exciting to see orange turn to yellow, yellow to blue, and blue to plaid.

Den leaders need to be sure parents know to have the next rank's colored neckerchief, slide and hat for the May pack meeting so that they can present them to their son.

Year End Camp Out 2012 - UPDATE!

Assistant Cubmaster Brad Williams has been dutifully planning our Year End Camp Out for our cub families, and we are most definitely in for a great time. Please let your Den Leaders know how many people (including parents and siblings) will be attending.

Night with the Knights
