Scouting For Food Success!
Once again Pack 214 showed tremendous spirit and teamwork over the past couple of weeks. Despite the rain and soggy bags, our Pack
collected over 5383 pounds of food for the annual "Scouting for Food" drive which benefits
Loaves and Fishes.
And not to be outdone, our big brothers of Boy Scout Troop 39
collected a record setting 41,000 pounds of food. (This is not a typo.) What a fantastic effort by both units.
Loaves and Fishes provides a week's worth of nutritious groceries to individuals and families in a short-term crisis. In 2011,
Loaves and Fishes provided groceries to 114,177 people.
From those who donated, and to the Boys and Leaders who picked up and delivered...Thank you to EVERYONE!
Pull for Ronald McDonald House Charities
For several years Pack 214 have been proud participants in this annual event encourage by our very own Scout leader and
American Legion member Pete McMurtrie. The pop tops the Cub Scout dens have collected help support local
Ronald McDonald House programs. These programs provide a temporary "home-away-from-home" for the families
of seriously ill children being treated at nearby hospitals.
We have collected a tremendous amount of tabs and we could use more. Our goal is to get to 100 pounds, so keep them coming!
